Now in its fifth year, the White Night brings to the capital the cultures, sounds and traditions of the five continents, linked by the theme chosen for this year: “The World in a Night”.

Walking through the streets of Rome during The White Night 2007 will be like walking through the streets of the world. More than 1000 artists will be taking part in the occasion, from 29 countries: Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Canada, Colombia, France, Japan, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Spain, the United States, South Africa, Tunisia, and Turkey.

A journey among more than 400 acts lets you discover countries near and far, evoked and related through lights, images and music, through stories, fairy tales and poetry, through great theatre from around the world, magic and circus arts, and through unexpected venues. The White Night is a collective experience without equal, in which members of the city and visitors can participate for free. It has been decided that in 2007, as last year, the suspense which precedes the main event of the 8th September, will be highlighted by a vigil the evening before which - from 21.00 to 24.00 - will introduce the atmosphere of festival and collective experience.

On Friday the 7th September Waiting for...The White Night, a collection of cultural, artistic and theatrical events which will fill the evening and part of the night with light and sound, introducing the real, genuine atmosphere of the White Night.

The program for Saturday 8th September includes shows, concerts, theatrical performances, dance, magic and circus arts, installations of contemporary art, fireworks, all the aspects of tradition and experimentation, combined for one night in a multi-faceted, yet harmonious grouping: with artistic capacity, cultural accomplishment, knowledge, and skills and methods for understanding art and entertainment among the many, diverse faces.

The Municipal Museums will also participate in these two evenings, remaining open on the Friday from 20.00 to 24.00 (last entrance at 23.00) and on the Saturday from 20.00 to 6.00 (last entrance at 5.00) and offering the public many varied events:
